First Contact

First Contact is a photo series of lumen contact prints inspired by my move from Virginia to Arizona. In an effort to become more in tune with my new home, I collected plant life from the surrounding Sonoran Desert and Santa Catalina Mountains. The overlay of plant life onto digital negatives of self-portraits and the use of the sun to expose silver gelatin paper foreshadowed my immersion in Tucson’s arid landscape.
